When You Don’t Have Answers, Hold On to God

¹ Now when Job’s three friends heard about all this adversity that had come upon him, they came, each one from his own place—Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite; and they made an appointment together to come to sympathize with him and comfort him. ¹² When they looked from a distance and did not recognize him, they raised their voices and wept. And each of them tore his robe, and they threw dust over their heads toward the sky. ¹³ Then they sat down on the ground with him for seven days and seven nights, with no one speaking a word to him, for they saw that his pain was very great. Job 2:11-13

Then Eliphaz the Temanite responded……Job 4:1

BIG IDEA: When life doesn’t make sense, God is still worthy of your trust. Faith trusts God even when life makes no sense.

1. PRINCIPLE 1: You can be RIGHT with God and still go through WRONG THINGS.

2. PRINCIPLE 2: There are REAL BATTLES you can’t SEE.

3. PRINCIPLE 3:  BAD THEOLOGY will HURT YOU IN HARD SEASONS.

1. PRESENCE is more POWERFUL than EXPLANATIONS
2. SILENCE can be SACRED
3. EMPATHY before THEOLOGY
4. Timing MATTERS in MINISTRY
5. You Can Be FAITHFUL without being the FIXER.
