What Is Baptism?
Baptism is an outward expression of an inward commitment to follow Jesus Christ and an exciting time publicly celebrating your faith. If you have made a commitment to follow Christ as your Savior and the leader of your life, then Scripture demonstrates that Baptism is an important next step for you. Should I Be Baptized?
You should be baptized if you have placed your faith and trust in Jesus alone for salvation! While baptism isn’t required for salvation, it is the first step of faith and obedience for believers. We believe that you are saved by grace through faith and not by any works (Ephesians 2:8). Baptism is a picture of Jesus’s work in a person’s heart. You should be baptized to follow Jesus’ example in baptism. He was baptized (Mark 1:9) and commanded us to be baptized (Matthew 28:19-20). Baptism illustrates Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).
